Tom Cleverley joins Watford from Manchester United

Young Reds on loan: the midfielder Tom Cleverley, 20, will play his football at Watford until 3 January 2010. It's Cleverley's second loan spell as a Red – last season he made 15 appearances for Leicester City in League One.

Cleverley may find himself lining up against two of his United team-mates in the Championship. Defender Danny Simpson will ply his trade at Newcastle United until 18 January, while Tom Heaton will keep goal on a three-month loan at Queens Park Rangers.

Elsewhere, midfielder Danny Drinkwater will play his football this season at League One side Huddersfield Town.
