Slovenia name South Africa 2010 roster: what about Haris Vuckic?

Slovenian coach Matjaz Kek has named his squad for the World Cup finals. Reports had suggested that Newcastle starlet Haris Vuckic could be drafted in, but he has not been included in the squad.

West Brom's Robert Koren is captain and leads the squad, which also includes former Barnsley stopper Suad Filekovic. There is also no room for highly-rated goalkeeper Vid Belec, Genoa's Dejan Lazarevic, Anton Zlogar of Omonia, or former captain Klemen Lavric.

"Now we have to check out all the players, they will do medical tests and train with our coaches," said Kek. "Then we will have a better picture of who will play at the World Cup and who will stay home."

Slovenia will prepare for the World Cup in Brunico, Italy before facing England, Algeria and the USA in the finals.
